Are you a travel family or a vacation family?

What I mean by that is: do you tend to go-go-go while you travel? Or do you prefer to kick back and relax?

As you can probably tell, we’re a “travel family”. We rarely stay at hotels, let alone resorts, mostly because we’re always looking for ways to stretch our dollars farther.

But while traveling is fun, sometimes you just need a vacation, am I right? And what better way to do that than by mixing in some Caribbean food and culture while the kids are kept entertained?

What Makes these Caribbean All-Inclusive Family Resorts the Best?

There’s lots to look for when booking an all-inclusive resort that’s also family-friendly.

First on the list, of course, is lots of kid-friendly amenities and activities. We’re looking for kids’ clubs, playgrounds, free beach gear, kid-friendly pools, and free on-site activities and entertainment.

A variety of dining options is always a plus, but extra perks like 24-hour room service, an optional family concierge, or in-room babysitting at night can all make a family’s all-inclusive experience that much better.

And of course, one should take into consideration the types of room available (studio or bedroom suite?), if kids stay free, and if traveling with a baby, if free cribs are available to use.

With that in mind, let’s break down our favorite All-Inclusive Family Resorts in the Caribbean:

Little Divi Bay Beach Resort | St. Maarten

First up on our list is Little Divi Bay. This classic family resort on the beaches of St. Maartin is a long-time family favorite. With 3 outdoor pools, beach gear like cabanas, umbrellas and chairs, and water sports galore, it’s easy to see why.

Families can choose to either book a hotel room only, or go all-inclusive where kids 5 and under stay free. All-inclusive perks include all meals, drinks, and snacks at the resort’s 5 restaurants and 3 bars (including 1 poolside).

Good to know: There is no kids club at Little Divi Bay, but the hotel offers private childcare for an extra charge.
