9 Stylish Backpacks for Traveling Mamas (that won’t break the bank)
Can we talk about something for a sec?
I didn’t think I’d ever do it, but here I am: I’m a backpack mom. It started when my crossbody diaper bag was simply getting too heavy to lug around on quick trips out of the house. Evelyn has been requiring less and less stuff the older she gets, but I still like having a bag pre-packed with snacks, little toys and diapers that’s ready to go at a moment’s notice.
So for our August trip to California where I would be flying solo with Evelyn, I broke down and decided it was time to up my mom game…it was time to buy a backpack.
If you’re like me and just aren’t sure if a backpack is right for you, then you probably don’t want to go spending a bunch of money on one right out the gate. I don’t blame you. You’ve got to ease yourself into the mom backpack lifestyle.
To be honest, when I started searching around, I wasn’t really sure what, if anything, I’d find. I definitely wasn’t looking to re-live my high school Jansport days, but I needed something of decent size and somewhat practical.
To my surprise, I had options…and lots of them! I decided on this faux leather number from Target, on sale for $25! A worthy investment, I figured, even if I only ended up wearing it a handful of times.
Well, it’s been a couple months now and I can successfully report that this little black backpack goes with us everywhere! I love having it stocked and ready to go at all times, it’s comfortable to wear while cruising through the airport with Evelyn on my front, and the outside pockets make it easy to grab my own stuff while keeping the baby stuff inside the main part of the bag.
Unfortunately, you can’t get this exact one at Target any longer (apparently a lot of mom’s like their backpacks!), so I’ve put together a list of a few other top contenders for the honor of most stylish backpacks for traveling mamas, all under $50!

See? You don’t have to look like you’re going back to school to get in on the stylish backpack trend! You’ll be the coolest mom at the pediatrician’s office, I swear!
So I wanna know, would you ever consider being a backpack mom (or have you already embraced the backpack)? đ
